Diagnosis
A hearing impairment is when the ability to apprehend sound is affected.
Signs of hearing loss may include:
- difficulty hearing people clearly and misunderstanding what they say - especially in noisy places
- asking people to repeat what they've said
- listening to the TV or music at a high volume
- difficulty hearing when talking to someone on the phone
- finding it hard to keep up with a conversation
- feeling tired or stressed for having to concentrate while listening
