NHS Health Checks
The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk.
You do not have to wait for an NHS Health Check to learn more about taking care of your health.
You can find information about most health conditions and how to have a healthier lifestyle on the NHS website. For example:
- take the NHS online Heart Age test to see your risk of getting heart disease or stroke
- find out if you're a healthy weight using the NHS healthy weight calculator
- take the How Are You quiz to see how healthy you are
