Wheelchair services
NHS wheelchair services offer assessments to determine what type of wheelchair or mobility aid can be provided under the NHS (mobility scooters are not provided). Referral to the service is usually through either hospital services, General Practitioner (GP) or Physiotherapists. Assessment for a wheelchair is usually carried out by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist in combination with a rehabilitation engineer. Further information about the assessment process can be found here.

- Higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance

You can find more information on the Motability website.
