Vision Express currently provides Wakefield District Council’s low vision services. The service can be accessed by referral from an optician, doctor, the Sensory Impairment Team, Action for Blind People or a hospital Ophthalmologist.
The service will assess whether visual aids, such as magnifiers or TV glasses can help people with a visual impairment become more independent with daily tasks. An example of this might be reading their own letters, checking the TV listings or reading TV subtitles.

Equipment is loaned free of charge, if it is believed it will benefit the individuals independence and quality of life.
