Adapting your home
Within the Wakefield area there are a number of different services that can assist with equipment and adaptations to your property. Examples include: wet rooms, grab rails, ramps, stair lifts. Different eligibility criteria apply, information about these services can be accessed below:

• Community Occupational Therapy Service
• Integrated Community Equipment Store
To ensure you access the correct service, you can contact Wakefield Council Social Care Direct on 0345 8 503 503 who can assist you with your enquiry. Further methods for contacting Social Care Direct can be found here.
A Disabled Facilities Grant may be accessed by residents living in the Wakefield district that are disabled and need to make changes to their home. The grant is financially assessed and you will need to meet eligibility criteria. Further information is available from Wakefield Council or at GOV.UK
